Collections are, as the name suggests, collections of fan content, organised into a single post type. You can add all of the 6 main fan content types to Collections – Fan Art, Cosplay, Fan Fiction, Music, Videos and Screenshots.
All the Collections on the site can be found on the Collections archive page.
Search and filter options are provided to narrow down results and each Collection listing shows a featured image, the name and avatar of the user who created the Collection, the number of items featured in the Collection and the number of Favourites.
Clicking anywhere on the listing item will take you to single Collection post. Each Collection is broken down into 3 sections: the Header, The Sidebar and the Content.
THE HEADER– This is a large banner and contains the main information about the Collection.
Cover Image – This is a large background image for the header.
Main Photo – This is the main or featured image of the Collection, framed in a polaroid style border.
Collection Name – This is the name of the Collection.
Author – This is the user who created the Collection. Clicking either their avatar or name will link directly to their profile on the site.
Content Counts – The first block shows a total count of how many items are featured in this Collection. The remaining blocks show counts of how many of a particular type of content are featured in the Collection – for example, in the image above, we can see that there are 32 Fan Art posts featured in the Collection.
Favourite Button – Click this button to Favourite this Collection. If you’ve already Favourited the Collection, the word ‘Unfavourite’ will show instead and the heart icon will be filled. Click the button again if you want to Unfavourite it.
Favourites Count – This shows how many times the Collection has been Favourited. Clicking the number will open a modal which will list the Fans who Favourited it. You can click the name or avatar of the Fan to go to the their profile.
Views Count – This shows the total number of Views the Collection has received from all users.
Edit Button – Click this button to edit the Collection. A modal will pop up with a form. This is the same form used for adding new Collections, except the fields will already be filled in with the relevant values.
Simply add or change what you want and click the Update button to edit the Collection. You will only see this button if you’re the author of the Collection post.
THE SIDEBAR – The Sidebar contains boxes showing how many of each type of Content Creator are featured in this Collection, based on how many of their linked Fan Content has been added to it. Along with each listed Creator, counts are shown in parenthesis to highlight how many pieces of Fan Content by them is featured in the Collection.
A final box shows how many Characters are featured in this Collection, with the count in parenthesis this time representing how many times this Character has been featured in content added to the Collection across all the different Fan Content types. The name and featured image of each item are clickable and will link directly to that content.
THE CONTENT – This is the main feature of a Collections page, showing all the content that has been added to the Collection.
Filters are provided at the top to further narrow down results. You can hover over each item to display the name of the content, click on the image to go directly to that post, and Favourite/Unfavourite or zoom in using the buttons provided.
Below the content listings, there is a final block with additional information.
